Cook County University of Minnesota Extension will host a winter meet-up for local farmers and agricultural producers in January.

The gathering will take place from 10 am-2 pm on Thursday, January 25 at the Cook County
Community Center in Grand Marais. This event is free to attend. If participants would like a box
lunch at the event, the cost is $15 (collected at the door), otherwise, they may bring their own
lunch. Registration is required by January 18th for those ordering lunch, others may register up
until the day of the event.

This event is for local operators of small farm/agricultural businesses on the North Shore of Lake Superior to gather and learn from each other. Farms at any stage of development and from any agricultural type are welcome- from vegetables to maple syrup,
livestock to flowers.

"It is so valuable for local farmers to get to spend time learning from each other,” said Sarah
Waddle, Extension Educator. β€œIn addition to discussion tables, this event will also feature
information over the lunch hour on resources available to local farmers from a variety of area
agencies.”
