From the Minnesota Department of Transportation - December 7, 2023

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on the Hwy 61 corridor from the Lester River Bridge to the Superior Street intersection in Duluth. MnDOT is planning to resurface this section of Hwy 61 in 2029, and engagement has been tabled until now so it wouldn’t be confused with the London Road project from 26th Avenue East to 60th Avenue East. This project includes studies at the Superior Street and Congdon Boulevard/Scenic 61 intersections, and improvements may be included at those intersections.

An interactive map has been created at talk.dot.state.mn.us/hwy-61-resurfacing where the user can drop a pin with comments or concerns on how the corridor works. There will be a public meeting in 2024 to share what came out of the public comments and traffic studies.
