More than 2,600 designs for the next Minnesota state flag and seal were submitted during a four-week period; qualifying submissions are now available on the State Emblems Redesign Commission website (www.mnhs.org/serc) 

The public submission process closed on October 30, 2023; no late entries are being accepted.

The State Emblems Redesign Commission was established in the 2023 legislative session to develop and adopt a new design for the official state seal and a new design for the official state flag no later than January 1, 2024.

As outlined in legislation creating the State Emblems Redesign Commission, the Minnesota Historical Society is providing administrative support for the Commission, created to adopt a new design for the official state seal and a new design for the official state flag.
