The entire Cook County community is invited to a listening session hosted by ISD 166, to provide input on potential future improvements or enhancements to district facilities and grounds.

Each facilitated session provides an opportunity to share ideas on what you'd like to see in the future for the schools. Dan Shirley, President of the Cook County ISD 166 School Board, shared in a local Facebook Group (used with permission) that these sessions are to gather input from the community about the "Subjective, or open-ended", side of improvements or enhancements people think the schools may need or things that they would like to see come to fruition.

Those attending the sessions are not expected to know what type of improvements the school may need for routine functionality.

As part of the entire process, Shirley shared that "An 'education adequacy assessment' is being performed" by planning consultant group ICS, which will tell the District how well current facilities and structures align with Minnesota Department of Education requirements. "The requirements cover a broad range of things such as room size, windows, HVAC, and more," he said.

There are two remaining listening sessions scheduled for the month of November.

Dates: November 1st at 6:30 p.m., or, November 9th at 6:30 p.m. (taking place right after parent/teacher conferences)
Location: Cook County Schools Cafeteria
