Empty Bowls: Grand Marais announces new location for upcoming event, volunteers & bakers needed

Empty Bowls: Grand Marais will be hosting their annual fall community event in collaboration with the Grand Maris Art Colony, on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Up Yonder in Grand Marais.
The goal of the event is to spread awareness of food insecurity in the Cook County area and raise funds that will be distributed back into the community. Past recipients have included local food shelves, schools, Cook County Public Health & Human Services, and more.
Community members are invited to come and enjoy a bowl (or two) of soup for lunch or dinner (or purchase quarts of soup for takeout). A bake sale fundraiser will also take place simultaneously, with a goal of raising $3000, which is enough to provide 300 meals through programs in Cook County.
Volunteers are needed for the event itself to help with a variety of tasks, as well as a need for bake sale donations; including bars, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, pies, tarts, mini fruit bread loaves, and some gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan items.
