It has been another week of awesome fall colors along the North Shore. Driving the backroads along the Sawtooth Mountains is pretty amazing. Bright sunny days have turned the oaks and maples a deep red. The intricate designs within the leaves always impress me.

Most of the maples are past peak now and as the final red leaves drop to the ground the North Shore is starting to display its second color season. The yellows and golds along the Lake Superior shoreline and inland along the Gunflint and Sawbill Trails are just starting to turn. They will be beautiful for the next two weeks.
