BGCS received a transfer of an endowment fund from We Connect (formerly the Birch Grove Foundation) in the amount of $31,334.95 that was created years ago with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. Judy Motschenbacher, former Foundation member when the fund was created, and long-time BGCS board chair, was instrumental in the creation of the endowment, and the transfer of it. "The endowment allows people to gift in their estate planning and know the gift continues indefinitely", says Motschenbacher. The fund as it is now, will generate around $1,200 a year and can be received in cash, or rolled over back into the fund. Blast from the past picture of BG students painting the endowment thermometer: Annika Erickson, Madysen McKeever, Erik Lawler, and Alyssa Martinson.
