The North Shore Swing Band will be on the front lawn of Chik-Wauk Lodge to get us in the mood from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair along to sit and enjoy the music. As always, there will be lots of locally homemade pies to choose from.
There is a suggested donation of $5 per slice of pie, ice cream, and beverage.
This day also features
- Annual Chik-Wauk “sidewalk” sale which offers steep discounts on many gift shop items
- Gunflint Trail Business Pie Competition (last year’s winner; Gunflint Pines) judging begins at 2:00 pm
- Individual Pie Competition ( last year’s winner; Paul Wehking) judging will begin after the Business Competition
- Pie Eating Contest
- Silent Auction
- Games
The Coffee is donated by the Loon’s Nest Coffee Shop, Ice Cream is donated by Upper Lake Foods.
It will be a fun way to wrap up the summer and say “So long till next year,” to our friends and neighbors.
All proceeds help with the daily operational costs of the Museum and Nature Center.
Free admission all day long.

Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center is open from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. until October 22, 2023.
There is an admission charge of $6/adult, $3/children 5 – 18 under 5 are free. Discounts for Senior Citizens and the Military. Free admission for anyone with a Gunflint Trail Historical Society membership.
Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center is located off the Gunflint Trail (Hwy12) turn right onto Moose Pond Drive (Cty Rd 81).
