Shortly before 6:00 AM on Monday, August 28, a fatal train incident was reported in Industrial Township.  A pedestrian was struck by a train on railroad tracks near Bear Trap Rd west of Hwy 33.

The 18-year-old male from Duluth was deceased at the scene.  He was alone and not in, or near, a vehicle at the time.  The incident is being investigated by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.  Initial findings indicate an intentional act. 

The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
