The search continues for missing Hovland resident Denny Pechacek who has been missing since Friday, August 18.
Pechacek was flying his ultralight plane Friday evening when he didn't return. Since then, family, friends, local residents, Cook County Search and Rescue, the Hovland Fire Department, the Cook County Sheriff's Office, the MN State Patrol, and others have been involved in a wide search.
Today marks the third day the Cook County Sheriff's Office has requested volunteers to conduct a ground search through rugged terrain.
Pechacek's family members are still requesting information to put together a timeline and flight pattern to help narrow down the search area.
If you or anyone you know was in the area between Colville and Grand Portage along the north shore or inland on the evening of August 18, you are encouraged to share it with the Cook County Sheriff's Office at 218-387-3030.
