WTIP Community Radio Announces Final Lineup for Radio Waves Music Festival Sept. 8 to 10; Volunteers Needed

WTIP Community Radio invites the community to join us at the 2023 Radio Waves Music Festival, Sept. 8 to 10, at Sweetheart’s Bluff in the Grand Marais Recreation Area. This marks the 25th birthday of WTIP Community Radio and the 16th year of this family-friendly festival.

Twenty-two local, regional and national acts will take the stage this year, including R & B legend John Ellison and The Carpenter Ants, who will perform a 90-minute gospel set on Sunday morning of the Festival. Music fans far and wide will recognize John as the singer-songwriter of “Some Kind of Wonderful” and many other R & B classics. Here is the complete schedule of performers:

 A favorite of visitors and area residents as well as performing musicians, Radio Waves is held rain or shine - with two stages housed under a large tent - and includes on-site food vendors. WTIP offers pre-sale weekend passes online. Admission, also available at the gate, is $20 per day, or $40 for the full Festival. Admission is free to children 12 and under. Campsite reservations at the Grand Marais Rec Park are recommended.

The Radio Waves Music Festival is made possible in part with funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, with additional support from Visit Cook County, the Gunflint Trail Association, and the Grand Marais Area Tourism Association.
