The annual Great Expectations School Plant Sale in Grand Marais

While many of us have been waiting out winter’s last gasps, watching the snow melt only to fill our yards again and bracing against the north wind, students and staff at Great Expectations School have been hard at work preparing for spring.
Since February, Science Educator William Choi has been leading students of all ages in hands-on learning experiences of planting seeds, monitoring and tending them as they sprout and grow. The school’s greenhouse, halls, and classrooms are now bursting with plant life. What a welcome sign of spring!

All are welcome to come to Great Expectations School on Saturday, May 20 from 8:00am to 1:00pm to browse the many varieties of starter plants that students have grown (and get your garden off to a vigorous start).
You can take these seedlings home knowing they’ve been well cared for by young learners using organic practices.
Plus, get there early for a community breakfast. Regular and gluten-free pancakes (and more) will be served from 8-10:30am.
Breakfast is $5.00 for ages 10 and under and $7.00 for ages 11 and up. We hope to see you there.
