There are so many people who work hard behind (and in front of) the scenes to help keep us safe during harsh Cook County weather.

Most recently, linemen, plow drivers, and others worked through the holiday, in blizzard winds and in below freezing temps to restore power and clear roads.

Those of us at Boreal Community Media know that you feel like we do - these people are truly the heroes that don't wear capes - and we want to thank them.

Now's your chance.

Send in a 1-2 sentence comment with your appreciation for:

  • Linemen
  • Plow drivers
  • EMTs

  • Fire department
  • Cook County Sheriff staff

  • Cook County Public Health and Human Services staff who helped arrange warming spaces for those without power

  • Tow truck drivers
  • Medical workers

  • behind the scenes spouses and families

to [email protected] by 11am Friday, December 28. You can put your name or remain anonymous. We'll compile all the messages into an article and make sure it gets to the organizations

Let's do what we do best, Cook County, and support our fellow community members and overwhelm them with our gratitude.
