Our annual Empty Bowls 2022 fundraiser is Thursday, November 17th, Lunch at 11-1, Dinner at 5-7, at  St. John’s Catholic Church in Grand Marais. Will you step up to support the important work of Empty Bowls in our community? Empty Bowls is the single largest fundraiser for Cook County hunger programs each year.

With over 12% of Cook County residents struggling with food insecurity today, Cook County’s hunger needs are greater than ever. Add to that the rising cost of groceries and more of us need support than ever before!

Looking for volunteers to work on Thursday, November 17th. See the fun opportunities here:https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050c44a5af23ab9-empty3

Why Empty Bowls? Too many of our neighbors are hungry.

Hunger Facts in Minnesota:
420,000 Minnesotans receive Food Support monthly
555,000 Minnesotans rely on Food Shelves monthly
65 million pounds of food was taken home from food shelves last year
178,000 Minnesotans are eligible for food stamps bur are not getting them

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger and was created by The Imagine Render Group. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity. It is the collective genius of all the people involved that has made Empty Bowls what it has become. Events have now taken place across the United States and in at least a dozen other countries. Many millions of dollars have been raised and donated to hunger-fighting organizations. We could never have imagined all the things people have done or all the ways the project has touched people. Each individual or group organizing an event designs it around the needs of their own community and is responsible for their own event.
