It’s almost time to light the lights down at Bentleyville as October 19th marks one month until the Christmas attraction opens on November 19th.

“It’s a fun time down here setting up”, says Executive Director Nathan Bentley.

Volunteers have been hard at work setting up the attraction since September, but Nathan says the more the merrier to help take on the big project. “We’ve got over five million lights spread over 20 acres here at Bayfront Park”, he says.

You can find the link to sign up to volunteer here. You can sign up to volunteer for setup through November 6th, Saturday’s and Sundays from 8:30am-4:00pm and also Wednesday nights 5:00pm-8:00pm. Lunch is also provided on the weekends too!

Along with volunteering with the setup process, folks can also volunteer to be on the grounds when Bentleyville opens. Nathan says, “Once the lights go on we are looking for people to look at our popcorn building, our cookie house, our marshmallow huts, to take care of our fire pits… there’s a wide variety of volunteer jobs.”

Nathan says Bentleyville needs a total of 60 volunteer workers every night to be fully operational. Sign up for that begins on November 1st

The excitement amongst the long time volunteers is high!
