Wednesday is the final day for Minnesotans to submit an appeal if they’ve been rejected from the state’s Frontline Worker Pay program.

Nearly 1.2 million people applied for the bonus pay and 214,209 were rejected. The rejections were for making too much money to qualify, already collecting too much unemployment pay, not having their employment or identity verified, or submitting duplicate applications, according to the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.

Appeal forms were sent to those who were denied, and a 15-day window for appealing will officially close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

While bonus payments were once projected to be around $750, the number of applications far exceeded what the state expected, meaning smaller checks are likely.

We won’t know the final number until all appeals are processed and decided on in the coming weeks.
