It was an art-filled weekend for a community on the North Shore.

The Under The Spreading Walnut Tree Art Festival was held in Two Harbors from August 12th through the 14th.

2022 marked the 28th year for the celebration.

Starting Friday afternoon both artists and art enthusiasts gathered just off Highway 61.

The event featured about 30 artists displaying works in 10 different mediums.

According to organizer Christine Williams, in addition to seeing repeat customers, the artists enjoy seeing each other year after year at the event.

“We become friends, and we tell each other about other art shows to do. We encourage each other and sometimes we might even barter, so we kind of do that and are collaborative as well,” said Williams.

Sunday was the final day of the festival.

The event is sponsored in part by a grant from Lovin Lake County.
