uthorities say an ongoing statewide investigation into sales and use of controlled substances has resulted in more than a dozen arrests so far, as well as the confiscation of currency and methamphetamine.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, multiple traffic stops and search warrants targeting the seizure of methamphetamine have been conducted throughout the past year.

So far, the sheriff’s office says the investigation has resulted in:

  • Four first-degree drug arrests,
  • One second-degree drug arrest,
  • One third-degree drug arrest,
  • Eight fifth-degree drug arrests,
  • More than three pounds of methamphetamine seized,
  • More than $11,000 in currency seized.

Formal charges are pending for those arrested, and the investigation is spread across multiple counties. Meanwhile, authorities say a 35-year-old Hackensack man was the leader of several of the cases, and say he used people to move meth from the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area to northern Minnesota so it could be sold.

Anyone with information about meth sales and use is asked to send in a tip, which can be anonymous. Tips can be sent through the tip line at 1-800-222-8477, or by CLICKING HERE.

Multiple agencies are involved with the investigation, including the sheriff’s offices in Morrison and Hubbard counties, as well as the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department and Crow Wing County Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division.
