Esko man charged after shooting in Midway Township

An Esko man faces assault and felon in possession of a fiream charges related to a shooting in Midway Township this week. Austin James Webster, 29, is accused of shooting a Wrenshall man in the legs.

The criminal complaint said it started when the two were together for a drug deal. But when the victim allegedly tried to leave, that's when trouble started. The complaint said bear spray was also involved.

Deputies responded after reports of a man limping along I-35 near the Proctor exit on Sunday. He has been treated and released for his injuries.
