Cook County childcare leaders held a virtual town hall meeting Monday to address a critical need for childcare in the region. There are just five childcare centers in the entire county. Those centers have a total capacity of 72 kids.

According to US Census numbers, Cook County has a total of 187 kids under five in need of daytime childcare, which means 114 of those kids don’t have a place to go.
