An International Falls lawmaker is running again for his seat. Representative Rob Ecklund announced his campaign Tuesday. The DFL’er is in his fourth term.

Rob currently serves as the chair of the Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee, as well as the following committees: Ways and Means, Environment and Natural Resources Finance, Jobs and Economic Development Finance, Labor, and Agriculture and Food Finance and Policy.

Ecklund was first elected State Representative for Minnesota District 3A in a special election in December 2015, finishing the term of the late David Dill.

Due to redistricting, he’s now running for the newly drawn 3A seat which spans the Canadian border from Koochiching County east to Grand Portage.

He says one of his priorities is getting Minnesota’s budget surplus back in the hands of Minnesotans. As of Tuesday afternoon, no one else has entered the race.
