Tree clearing and grubbing will start on Monday, March 7, along Highway 61 at Stewart River. This is in preparation of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s bridge project at Stewart River.

The tree clearing will occur beginning near Betty’s Pies to the Highway 61/3 intersection. Traffic will encounter temporary daily shoulder closures. Clearing activities are expected to continue through March 16. This work and timeline are weather dependent.

For more information on the project, visit mndot.gov/d1/projects/hwy61-bridges. A virtual public meeting is also scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, on the upcoming construction on this project.
