Brule musher places third in Jr. Iditarod

Morgan Martens, a 15-year-old musher from Brule, Wis., placed third in the 2022 Jr. Iditarod.
The more than 120-mile race had to be moved into the mountains because trails were wet and slushy.
Martens won the race in 2021 and went back to defend his title this year. It was a close race. The top two junior mushers were separated by just 6 seconds with Martens finishing third 5 minutes behind them.
The Jr. Iditarod started Saturday and finished Sunday. The full Iditarod starts this Saturday, March 5.
