Flights are over 90% booked this week at Duluth International Airport.

Marn and Marie Flicker, of Grand Rapids, were on one of them. Marn told us, "After being locked up for over a year, it's exciting to be able to travel."

They are heading to Seattle to see one of their sons. "We've gotten our vaccines and our boosters. He's gotten his vaccine and his booster. So we feel comfortable," Marn added.

Many are also driving to their destinations as well, including Gale Kerns. He and his family are heading to Park Rapids.

"There weren't any vaccines last year, so we stayed home," he shared. "Now the whole family is as vaccinated as they can be."

Some advice from the Minnesota Department of Health is to get tested before you gather, and then afterwards if you have any symptoms.

Other tips includes avoiding large crowds and making sure you get your vaccine.

AAA estimated that over 53 million people will travel during the holiday weekend.
