From the Grand Marais Playhouse - November 4, 2021

The Grand Marais Playhouse will be joining thousands of theatrical organizations around the globe by producing their own local production of Music Theatre International’s All Together Now!A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre. Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) created this revue for theatres across the globe to use as a local fundraising event performed over the same weekend.

MTI’s President and CEO, Drew Cohen stated, “MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians. The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre.

The Grand Marais Playhouse event will include musical selections performed by Sue Hennessy, Kylie Viren Aurora Schelmeske, Karen Blackburn, Rowan Lindholm, Tina Hegg Raway, Amanda Hand, Mark Abrahamson, Rose Arrowsmith, Thomas Stamps, Karina, Mike and Greta Roth, Hilja Iverson, Sara Hingos and Michael McHugh.

“We are incredibly excited to celebrate the return of live theatre with performances of MTI’s All Together Now!,” stated Sue Hennessy “The past year has been a challenging time for everyone, particularly arts organizations. We look forward to welcoming our patrons back with this truly wonderful revue.”

Tickets for All Together Now are $25 for in-person or livestream.

The Grand Marais Playhouse will open its 50th Season celebration with an evening of one act plays. It was on a stormy night in January 1969 when the community gathered for an evening of one act plays that was so successful that it birthed the "Little Theater" that became The Grand Marais Playhouse.

If you have ideas for a one act, either original or published, want to direct or act in a one act play or just want to be involved in scenery, props or costumes, come to the interest meeting on Tuesday, November 15 at 5:30 PM at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. All are welcome!
