Thousands of people from all directions are excited to watch, participate, and camp out for the big, Howies Mud Bog event in Finlayson.

This annual mud race and weekend celebration is in its 28th year.

The three-day event features racing, mud bogging, camping, and live music.

Organizers say nearly 5,000 people are expected to attend.

“There’s not a whole lot of places to do this, you know, you can’t just go anywhere and tear up the wetlands. A lot of these people look forward to have someplace where they can let go, rip it up. Let the mud fly,” said organizer Howie.

The mud pit will open Friday at 8 a.m. but Thursday already had the gates flooding with people.

More information and event details can be found on Howies Mud Bog Facebook page.

Passes for the event are available here.
