It is official: K-9 Chase from the Hibbing Police Department is "America's Top Dog."

K-9 Chase and his handler, Officer Joey Burns, were crowned champions on the "America's Top Dog" finale Tuesday night on A&E.

"We filmed in September, so it was hard to keep it secret for so long. I always knew he had it in him to do something like this. Honestly, the hardest part was me keeping up with him," Burns told sister station WDIO in Duluth.

Fans gathered to watch the finale of the show Tuesday night at the Hibbing Memorial Building. Chase and Burns were there, meeting so many people. 

The two are now back at work.

"It's good for him to get back into the swing of things, and back to training in the real world," Burns said.

Chase got a medal and $30,000 to help the Hibbing Police get a new K-9 once he retires. And they also got $10,000 for Range Regional Animal Rescue.
