Severe storm damage cancels Ely’s Blueberry Festival

Ely's 2021 Blueberry and Arts Festival has been canceled following severe storm damage Friday night. 

According to the Ely Chamber of Commerce, it is a devastating scene at Whiteside Park. 

There have been no reports of injuries. Many tents and vendors goods were damaged. 

Most of the town is currently without power. 

The festival was scheduled to run through Sunday.


The severe storm blew through Ely Friday evening, tearing apart tents and blowing down trees in the middle of town.

That's where day one of the town's popular Blueberry Festival was taking place. 

Photos shared by participants show blown over tents, downed trees and vendor goods strewn across the center of town.

Most of the town is without power.

No word if the festival will resume for the weekend.

No word on any injuries.
