The North Shore welcomed crowds of people Saturday morning to Burlington Station celebrating its reopening.

The station was originally used as an office space and has been transformed into a fun hub for friends and family.

The refurbishing of the station has been in the making for two years and offers a variety of gifts and sweets.

It consists of a model train depot, candy store, and retail space for tourists and locals; historical pieces from the north scenic railroad also align the large space.

Director of Marketing, Jordan Seidel, says that Burlington station is another fun spot for northlanders to visit anytime of the year.

"It really depicts the north shore and sort of what we're trying to do - it's just going to be a lot of fun it's going to be a destination for people as they make their way up the north shore," Seidel said.

Community member Marie Nordean said it's an inviting place that welcomes everyone to come together.

"You can go grab ice cream or go sit down and have a root beer with anybody," Nordean said. "It is a great attraction and it'll bring a lot of people."

Nordean also said it's good to have an indoor fun space, for when the weather is less than inviting.

The station is waiting to get all 5-thousand feet for their model train, which will receive a grand unveiling when it's done.
