It's time to gear up for the Great Minnesota Get-Together again, with the Governor saying it appears to be on track to return to normal this year.

Friday, Gov. Tim Walz shed some light on the status of the event, saying it should be back to normal this year.

"Everything to me looks, on the horizon, the way the vaccine is going and the way the virus is responding, that should be a pretty close to normal event," Walz said of the Minnesota State Fair.

The fair is scheduled to run from Aug. 26 through Sept. 6. Still to be discussed, though, are health and safety guidelines for the event.

The governor is expected to discuss further easing of COVID-19 restrictions next week. Walz said the state is still outpacing President Joe Biden's goal to reopen fully by July 4.
