Bitter cold with dangerous wind chills continue Sunday

Bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills will continue across the Northland Sunday through Tuesday morning, with life-threatening conditions possible this morning and again Sunday night/Monday morning! Wind chills between -35 to -50 degrees are expected for in the morning, and again at night.

Frostbite will be possible on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Stay inside, if possible, limit time spent outdoors, cover all exposed skin, bring your pets inside out of the cold, and check on your elderly neighbors and family to make sure they are okay. Never use the oven or stovetop to heat your home!

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills. Wind chills as low as 50 
below zero. 
 
* WHERE...Northern Cook and Lake, South Itasca, Koochiching, 
Southern Cook, Southern Lake, North St. Louis, North Itasca 
and Central St. Louis Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands 
of the Grand Portage Reservation and the Bois Forte Band, Deer 
Creek, Nett Lake and, Lake Vermillion areas. 
 
* WHEN...Until noon CST Tuesday. 
 
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills could cause
