Lake County Public Health and Lake View Hospital & Medical Clinics are working together on plans to distribute COVID-19 vaccine to all Lake County residents.

They are currently in the process of completing vaccinations for healthcare workers and congregate care residents and staff in Phase 1a.

Provided additional vaccine is received, pop-up clinics for Lake County residents aged 65 and over will be offered starting the week of February 1, 2021.

Residents aged 65 and over that are interested in scheduling an appointment are asked to call the Lake County COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at (218) 834-8434 to hear a recorded message about scheduled clinics and how to make an appointment.

The message will be updated each morning, Monday through Friday. Pop-up clinics will be scheduled on short notice and appointments are expected to fill up quickly. Those interested in making an appointment are urged to check the message each day. When making an appointment, you will be asked for your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth and mother’s maiden name.

These clinics will also be offered for pre-k through grade 12 educators and childcare workers. Educators and child care workers will be notified by their employer when they are eligible to receive a vaccine. There is a different appointment process for educators and childcare workers. Instructions to make an appointment will be provided by their employer.

All the pop-ups will be held at the Lake View Conference Center, 325 11th Avenue, Two Harbors. Vaccine will be available by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Please use the new main entrance, but do not enter the facility more than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment to ensure social distancing.  The COVID-19 vaccine is being provided at no cost.  You will not be asked for insurance information.

Lake County residents aged 65 and over will need to show identification that includes their birth date. Educators and child care workers will need to show an employee ID or paystub.

Plan to sit for 15 minutes of observation after you receive your vaccine. If you have allergies, you will need to sit for 30 minutes.

The planning process has been challenging given the limited amount of vaccine currently available, changing guidance on who is eligible to receive the vaccine, and uncertainty as to when more vaccine will be received.

There continues to be a very limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine in Minnesota. Lake County Public Health and Lake View are committed to making sure that everyone in Lake County who wants a vaccine is able to get one, but it will take time. Please be patient.

Again, call the Lake County COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at (218) 834-8434 to find out about scheduled clinics and how to make an appointment. This is only for residents aged 65 and over at this time.
