One person is dead following a house fire Saturday morning.

Koochiching County Sheriff Perryn Hedlund said crews responded to the call of a house fire on County Rd. 2 at 9:30 A.M.

According to the International Falls Journal, International Falls firefighters were fighting the blaze for over three hours.

One other person sustained injuries in the fire. They were airlifted to medical care.

The cause and identification of victims has not been released.
