Minnesota hit its 10th consecutive day of 1000+ new cases of COVID 19 on Monday. Health officials are worried that people are starting to tune out their message.

"What seems to have changed, more recently, is that people are letting their guard down in private settings. We're not seeing as many problems in public settings. It's at the birthday parties, weddings, and celebrations," shared Jan Malcolm, commissioner of the department of health.

We are now two weeks away from the election day. And if you plan to vote in person, there are things you can do to lower your risk of exposure.

Kris Ehresmann, director of MDH Infectious Disease, said, "To avoid crowds, you might want to vote at off peak times, like mid-morning. Stay at least six feet away from others. Wear a mask. Wash or sanitize your hands before entering and after leaving the polling location." Your risk voting is about the same as going to the grocery store, they said.

A total of 469 Minnesotans are in the hospital right now with COVID 19.  It is International Infection Prevention Week.
