A young bald eagle perched himself outside the Cascade Lodge and Restaurant and wouldn't leave.

Restaurant owners, Thom and Jelena McAleer say he got very protective of his little area that he claimed for his own and even attacked a woman outside the restaurant.

Restaurant chef, Bernie Banks came out to help the woman by throwing his chef smock over the eagles head.

Thom McAleer said the woman got free but not Bernie's chef smock, the eagle tore it to shreds in the process.

Cook County sheriff's deputies and Minnesota state patrol officers tried for hours to get the raptor to move on because it was causing a traffic hazard on the highway.

It finally landed atop a sheriff's truck and the feisty bird rode on top of the vehicle for about a half mile down the highway, a very unorthodox police escort, and eventually flew away.

They also called the Raptor Center from the Twin Cities and It remains unclear why the young bird was acting so peculiar.
