Update:  The Cook County Sheriff's Office has been notified that the 911 service disruption due to the Century Link fiber optic cable being severed is now repaired.

Cook County had an intermittent disruption of 911 service in the parts of the Hovland and Grand Marais areas. It seems the outage is only affecting portions of the 475 and 387 exchanges, approximately 102 customers.

The Hovland Fire Hall was staffed with personnel having ARMER radio capabilities and connection to 911 dispatch. For the Grand Marais area, people were encouraged to get to North Shore Health Hospital or the Cook County Law Enforcement Center.
