Election Day is Nov. 6, and there are a number of candidates vying for a Grand Marais City Council seat.

Prior to Election Day, WTIP is holding two live election forums with the mayoral and city council candidates. Join WTIP on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4 at 7 p.m. to hear from the mayoral and city council candidates.
All the candidates have been invited.

Running for mayor is incumbent Jay Arrowsmith DeCoux, challenged by Ray Pederson.

Running in the special election to fill a council vacancy are Jonathon Steckelberg and Pete Gresczyk. They will also be in the WTIP studio on Wednesday, October 3.

Then on Thursday, October 4, we’ll hear from the other citizens running for the remaining council seat, Anton Moody, Kelly Swearingen, and Craig Schulte.

If you have concerns about city government, participate in these forums by calling in before or during the broadcast --- Call us at WTIP at (218) 387-1070; or email [email protected] with your questions for the candidates.

WTIP will do our best to include them in the forum.

Thank you for helping WTIP North Shore Community Radio make your community concerns known.

And be sure to tune in at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4 to meet your city council candidates!
