On Tuesday, September 18th, Tom Nelson, Doug Sanders, and Tim Velner held a community presentation on the Cook County High School Ice Storm robotics team.  

Tim Velner and his Daredevils team from Duluth won the 2017-2018 Chairman’s Award over 200 high school teams for their support given to countless other teams, even one in Sweden.  Daredevils offer a summer camp where over 10 teams participated at camp in Summer, 2018.  Tim is offering mentoring support to our Cook County team.

 

Students involved in this program learn the following skills:

• Constructing robots
• Coding
• Welding
• Electrical wiring
• Wireless communications to robots
• Emergency repairs during competitions
