Sawtooth Mountain Clinic celebrated their 40th year as a Federally Qualified Community Health Center in Cook County by inviting members of the community to their open house at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25th.

More than 80 guests enjoyed refreshments and a short program which highlighted the history of Sawtooth Mountain Clinic.  Attendees included the current Providers at the Clinic plus former doctors, staff and Board Members.

Several speakers celebrated the long journey from Sawtooth Mountain Clinic's humble beginnings as a Federally Qualified Health Care Center to today's many new health care capabilities.  The Clinic's expanded Outreach initiatives were highlighted, programs dedicated to improving the overall health of the community touching every corner of Cook County.  Special note was made between the lengthy partnership between the Clinic and the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa by Grand Portage Chairman Norman Deschampe.

Community members were encouraged to lend their vocal support for the Clinic to members of Congress and through financial and legacy support.  The Clinic's Giving Tree is available in the waiting room to allow community members to make donations year-round.  The Giving Tree gives financial support for transportation and lodging for those who require health care treatment outside of Cook County and is distributed at the discretion of the health care providers.
