Motorists traveling on Highway 61 will encounter single-lane closures and a pilot car beginning Monday, June 18, in the Beaver Bay area

Crews will begin resurfacing work on an already underway improvement project. Resurfacing will take place in beginning in the Lafayette Bluff Tunnel area and moving south to the Gooseberry, Beaver Bay and Illgen City areas.

Twelve-foot width restrictions and 60-foot length restrictions will be in place.

Motorists are asked to use caution in the work areas.

Benefits of the improvement project include additional left turn lanes to improve traffic flow, improved signal functionality and a smoother pavement surface.
