Debris on Spring Roads a Danger – Secure Your Load

April 20, 2018 – Cook County Highway Department roads crews are finding lots of miscellaneous debris, such as cut split firewood, scattered on roads throughout the County.

The Highway Department reminds wood haulers and residents to properly secure loads in trucks and trailers, especially while road conditions are rough during the spring thaw. Not only is not securing your load illegal, but flying or trajected debris can pose serious danger to passing motorists.
