Arctic Air Returns This Weekend.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Cold wind chills continue this morning and then return tonight for
a brutal three day stretch of bitterly cold wind chills. Wind
chill warnings have been posted and wind chill advisories will be
needed for the remainder of the area. A winter weather advisory
for lake effect snow has also been posted for Iron County
Wisconsin.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Bitter cold temperatures and dangerously cold wind chill values
will persist through the weekend into the New Years Day holiday.
Wind chill values will be as cold as 30 to 50 below zero Saturday
and Sunday nights. See the Wind Chill Warning in effect for parts
of northern Minnesota for more details.

Lake effect snow showers will impact the south shore of Lake
Superior this weekend into early next week. Areas along the the
Gogebic Range in northern Iron and Ashland counties will see periods
of moderate snowfall with total accumulation through the weekend
around 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts,
